Day 17 - Slow and Steady

Day 17 – Thursday, August 3, 2017

AGE: 2 weeks, 2 days old (27 weeks, 1 days gestation)

Lochlan: Weight is. (Birth weight: 1 lb 10.8 oz.)

No changes in weight today which is okay. The medical team told us we don’t really want them gaining weight while on the ibuprofen because if they did gain weight it would be more water weight than anything. Urine output has been good which would suggest that they are not retaining too many fluids.

Lochlan is continuing to be our steady warrior. No changes for the past 48 hours for him other than minor O2 changes. We want him to rest and get strong to heal his heart.

Lex is still on dopamine. They attempted to lower it to 16 mics, but had to come back up to 17 out of 20. We want to see his heart begin to regulate itself to lower his blood pressure. A smaller PDA should help ease his heart.
