Welcome.

This is the triumphant story about micropreemie warrior twins as told by their mother. Our hope is that this story may bring you hope and strength for whatever battle you are fighting now.

Day 66 - Inchstones

09/22/17 - Day 66 of Life

.
One misconception about having extremely premature infants is that there is a lot of sadness. On the contrary, we rejoiced in every inchstone, we celebrated each gram gained and every mL drank. We tried our best to find happiness when hope was the only star in the sky.
.
Around this time of our journey, my husband and I began inviting family to hold the twins. Things felt more stable and, as long as the holder was well, we encouraged snuggles.
.
This is a picture of my parents, the twins grandparents, preparing for their first tandem hold. Like every first for micropreemie family members, this was not how they expected to first hold their grand-twins, it was infinitely better.
.
Happiness was not hard to find on this day
