When others saw a delicate 4 lb preemie, I truly and wholeheartedly saw a warrior capable of the unthinkable.

Early on, I remember being introduced to the term, “preemie look.” Nurses or others would say, “he is losing his ‘preemie look.’” I remember hating the term. Maybe because I didn’t know what it meant. All I saw was two beautiful babies who, at only 5 lbs, had literally tripled thier birth weight.
.
As I look back, I now see what they meant by “preemie look,” but I will never myself use this term. I, instead will always see nothing other than the look of a true warrior.
