Day 76 - Are we out of the Woods?

Another mama compared the NICU to a tunnel. The NICU tunnel, however, is not straight so you cannot always see the light.
.
At 34 weeks gestation and over 2 months into our NICU journey I started to see a flickering light at the end of our NICU tunnel. Things felt more stable and there was an intangible change in the way the nurses were treating us.
.
The nurses were lighter in their demeanor almost as if they subconsciously knew that it was okay to get attached to our boys. My boys were going to make it. .
I asked one nurse, “are we out of the woods?”
.
She said, “never says never,” but she knew and I knew that she knew... both my boys were going to survive...
